2020 — a year already marked by a pandemic and a looming presidential election — is the 10 year anniversary of Señor Sisig feeding the Bay Area masses with left-of-center cuisine inspired by the Philippines. The dining establishment, which runs a fleet of food trucks in tandem with operating a brick-and-mortar restaurant, is known throughout Northern California for providing crowds with creative Filipino street food. And to celebrate this double-digit achievement, a lauded feat for any restaurant, Señor Sig is partnering with The City Eats to help satiate low-income families, SRO inhabitants, overlooked seniors, and others affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The new initiative, hashtagged “#Sisig4ThePeople,” aims to raise $100,000 to help fund the preparation and delivery of ready-to-go meals to those underserved in our communities; this fund will also help keep Señor Sisig’s staff employed. Donors who kindly give $100 or more will automatically receive a print of their commemorative anniversary t-shirt, with more information available on how to donate at senorsisig.com/sisig4thepeople.

Also, new trucks to help feed locals and in-need populations are slated to appear in both Oakland (at the Diamond District at 3331 Fruitvale Avenue) and in Daly City (at 3001 Junipero Serra Boulevard) soon.

For up-to-date information on where the trucks are and what they’re currently serving, visit senorsisig.com/find-us. To help avoid crowding and respect social distancing norms, consider ordering in advance via Guests who want to avoid waiting in line can order in advance from order.senorsisig.com or choose to for delivery via Caviar, Doordash, and UberEats. (Though, always choose to do directly from any single local restaurant if you can; delivery app companies can contract 30 percent of order amounts before giving a said eatery the remaining funds.)
