Samsung today announced that it will be launching Samsung Pay in Korea on August 20 and in the U.S. on September 28. The Korean company also plans on launching its payment service in the U.K., Spain, and China down the line. Samsung Pay will come pre-loaded on the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+, which will launch in the United States and Canada on August 21. The payment service, however, will only be going live in the country on September 28. Samsung will also be rolling out a software update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in Korea and the United States later this month to enable Samsung Pay on these devices. Additionally, certain Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note 5 owners in the United States will also be able to participate in a beta trial of Samsung Pay starting from August 25. Samsung is working with American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and major banks in the United States like Bank of America, Chase, and U.S. Bank to make sure that Samsung Pay supports a wide range of financial institutions when it launches in September.
