A couple of months after initially announcing that Samsung Pay will be expanding to Singapore soon, Samsung today officially launched its mobile payment service in the country. The service will go live from June 16 in the country.
The mobile payment service will support debit/credit cards from major payment networks like American Express (coming soon), MasterCard, and Visa. It will support cards from banks like Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC Bank, and Standard Chartered. More than 40 different retailers from major categories like health, electronics, travel, and entertainment will support Samsung Pay in Singapore at launch. Samsung Pay will even work in retail stores that have not yet updated to contactless payment terminals, thanks to its Magnetic Secure Transmission technology. Samsung Pay will be supported by the following devices in Singapore:

Samsung Pay is the second contactless payment service to launch in Singapore, with Apple launching Apple Pay in the country just over a month ago.
