It was last year, in July, that Samsung and PayPal officially announced a partnership that would bring the two payment services together, letting Samsung Pay users utilize the payment platform for purchases in retailers, as well as in apps and from online merchants. That announcement went dark almost immediately afterward, and, since then, the wait has been on for Samsung Pay customers to actually get the ability to use PayPal within Samsung Pay. That changes today, though, with both companies making an announcement that it is now rolling out support for Samsung Pay users to utilize PayPal to make purchases at physical retailers where Samsung Pay is supported. To get PayPal to work, you will need to add your PayPal account in a similar way that you would add any other card to the mobile payment option:
Tap “+” on upper right hand of Samsung Pay home screen Select “Add PayPal” in the “Add payment card section” If you have One Touch enabled, the account will be provisioned. If not, you’ll need to input your account credentials. Press “Next” and enter a pin for in-store purchases Select a Debit or bank funding source to top-up the account Press “Agree & Continue” and you’re all set!
If you use Samsung Pay and PayPal, are you going to bridge the two services?
