Nothing is left to the imagination when it comes to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, thanks to the boatload of leaks that have permeated the web in recent times. Now, both handsets have gotten the necessary approval from the FCC as they near an official announcement and, if rumors pan out, market availability in just a little over a month. The FCC has certified the AT&T variants of the two phones – model numbers SM-G930A and SM-G935A, and also mentions the other major US carrier variants in the certification documents. Given all the secrecy that Samsung tries to maintain before flagship launches (something it has miserably failed to do this time around), it’s not a surprise that the FCC listing doesn’t reveal any newsworthy details on the handsets. Well, other than the fact that the agency’s label will be found on the bottom of both devices. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are expected to feature 5.1 and 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED displays, an Exynos 8890/Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 12 MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, 5 MP front camera, 32/64GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a fingerprint sensor, and 3,000/3,600 mAh batteries. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will run on the handsets out of the box, and we could also see them feature a pressure-sensitive touchscreen, similar to Apple’s 3D Touch technology. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge on February 21st at its pre-MWC Unpacked event.
