Last year, to better take on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and due to the Galaxy S6 not doing particularly well, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 5 in August — more than a month early from its usual timeframe. Rumors this time around also point to the Korean company launching the Galaxy Note ‘7’ sometime in early August to take on the iPhone 7.
Adding further credence to the rumor today is @evleaks who says that the Galaxy Note 7‘s launch event is “almost exactly” two months away, which means that we are looking at an official unveiling of the handset sometime in early August. And if the previous two Galaxy launches from Samsung were anything to go by, the Note 7 should make its way to retail stores within a fortnight of its official launch.
— Evan Blass (@evleaks) June 2, 2016 A previous report had claimed that Samsung will be skipping the ‘6’ numbering with the Galaxy Note 6, and instead call it the Galaxy Note 7. The company will be doing so to better take on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and to not give an impression to average consumers that the Galaxy S7 are newer and better handsets than its upcoming flagship phablet. Samsung is rumored to go with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 7 and a Snapdragon 823 chipset. Recent rumors also point to the handset coming with a curved display like the Galaxy S7 edge, though nothing concrete has leaked on that front yet. What are your expectations from the Galaxy Note 6/7?
