AT&T and US Cellular today announced that they will start taking pre-orders for Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship — the Galaxy S5 — from March 21st. The handset will set users back by $199 on a two-year contract with 16GB of internal memory on either networks. While US Cellular will ship the handset on or by 11th April, AT&T only lists “early April” as pre-order shipping dates. Users who pre-order the Galaxy S5 on US Cellular will also be getting a $50 Google Play gift card....

The heir of Samsung’s group Lee Jae-yong has been sentenced to five years in prison on corruption charges. The political favors included winning government support for a restructuring of Samsung which strengthened Mr. Lee’s control over the company. After expanding Samsung Pay to Singapore, Spain, and Australia earlier this year, Samsung is now expanding its mobile payment service to Brazil. This makes Samsung Pay the first mobile payment service to be available in South America.
