Samsung has revealed that it has received 26 false reports of the Galaxy Note 7 catching fire from around the world. The reports surfaced after the company announced an official recall of the phone. Out of the 26 reported incidents, Samsung says that 12 incidents occurred that were not related to the faulty battery inside the Galaxy Note 7. Of the remaining 14 cases, seven Note 7 owners either withdrew their claim or said that they threw the phone away, while the remaining seven could not be contacted....

Recently, Samsung announced a pair of new flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, that saw plenty of attention. Now, the tests are starting to trickle in. First up, a look at the display on the Galaxy S7 from Display Mate, which says that the newest smartphone from Samsung improves in every area that could be improved upon from the Galaxy S6, and even manages to earn the publication’s “Best Smartphone Display” award for all of its improvements....

In a recent interview with The Korean Times, Samsung’s CEO J.K. Samsung has officially confirmed through its recently concluded Galaxy Beta Program for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge that it plans on rolling out the official Nougat update for the handsets in January. Samsung gave Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners from across the world a chance to test Nougat on their handset before its official release and submit bug reports to them. The company rolled out five updates to members of its Galaxy Beta Program fixing bugs and adding new features on the way since it initially started with the beta program in November....

Samsung appears to have unintentionally leaked images of an upcoming flagship Galaxy series tablet on its own website. The images appear to be of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and the display features a notch that Samsung mocked Apple for when the iPhone X launched. A Samsung support page for the Bixby voice assistant first spotted by 91Mobiles leaked the tab’s images. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is expected to be the only variant of the lineup with a display notch to house a dual front-facing camera setup....
