After updating the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S5 to Marshmallow, Samsung seems to have started seeing the update for the Galaxy Note 4. Many owners of the phablet are reporting that they have received a 1.3GB update on their device that bumps the OS to Android 6.0.1. Koh Dong-jin, president of Samsung’s mobile communications division, has revealed in a media briefing that the Galaxy S8’s market response has been better than the company anticipated it to be. The company’s latest flagship has already been pre-ordered over 720,000 times in just 7 days in South Korea alone. Samsung today announced its first quarter earnings of 2014, where it managed to earn an operating profit of $8.2 billion dollars, down 3.3% from the same period a year ago. The results were better than what Samsung and other analysts were expecting though. The electronic giant had a revenue of $51.8 billion dollar, a 3% increase year-over-year leading to a net profit of $7.3 billion. While Samsung’s display panel segment posted a loss of 80 million won, the mobile division posted a profit of 6....

Samsung’s new hire, Don-tae, comes from the same ndon-based design firm co-founded by Apple’s infamous y Ive—the same y Ive who designed Apple’s ione id. Samsung hopes to bring some of ’s design expertise to its smartphone tablet design, according to Korean press.
