Starting from today, owners of high-end Galaxy handsets from Samsung in the United States will be able to use Samsung Pay to pay at all major retail stores. Samsung Pay is the Korean company’s own mobile-based payment service that works with both NFC and MST based PoS. Samsung had announced earlier this month that Samsung Pay had a successful launch in South Korea, and it managed to process more than $30 million in transactions in just a month since its launch....

Samsung has announced that it will be expanding its mobile payment service — Samsung Pay — to Russia, Malaysia, and Thailand before the end of this year. With the addition of these three new countries, Samsung Pay would be supported in 10 countries by the end of 2016. In addition, Samsung also announced that it is partnering with Mastercard to offer simplified online payment solution dubbed Masterpass. Due to launch early next year, Masterpass is accepted by thousands of merchants across 33 countries for online payments....

Samsung unveiled four new tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. My personal favorite is easily the 8.4 inch Galaxy TabPro. It has a Snapdragon 800, 2 GB of RAM, and most importantly, an 8.4 inch display that pushes an insane resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. A report from South Korea’s Electronic Times claims that Samsung will be using Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820 chipset in the Galaxy S7. The publication cites unnamed industry sources and says that variants of the Galaxy S7 that will be sold in China and the United States will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset. Samsung has launched two new color variants of the Galaxy S9: Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red. Samsung is probably making this move to help boost sales of its flagship handset which have reportedly been less than stellar. The Sunrise Gold edition of the Galaxy S9 features a satin gloss finish which gives it a “tranquil glow and glimmer.” As for the Burgundy Red edition, it features “one of the deepest red colors” with a restrained gloss for added density thereby giving it a luxurious design....
